Questions from friends: Do you need to put a compulsory certification mark on the nameplate of dehumidifiers sold in Japan? Just now I asked a colleague who is a certification mark. He said that if it is a round shape, it must be marked, if it is a diamond shape, it is not necessary. Is it like this?
Qunyou answered: Products that fall within the scope of the “electrical appliance and material safety law” need to be affixed with the PSE logo. In this regulation, the products are classified into circular PSE and diamond-shaped PSE products. For products not regulated by the Electrical Appliances Safety Law, there is no need to affix PSE.
Expert reply:
Dehumidifiers do not belong to the Japanese compulsory certification diamond PSE catalog, and dehumidifiers not exceeding 500W belong to the voluntary certification circular PSE catalog.
I don’t know where your colleague said, “If it’s round, you must mark it, if it’s a diamond, you don’t need it.” It sounds a bit counterintuitive.
