With the demand of social progress, many brands of motor products have gradually appeared in the market. However, a very important prerequisite for the investment of motors is the need for relevant testing and certification. Many companies will have questions. There are many types of motor structures. In the domestic market, some requre CCC certification, and some do not requre 3C certification. No matter if I purchase as an accessory or produce my own motor, how do I judge whether to do 3C certification and regulate legal operations? Woolen cloth? In addition, in the international market, as an accessory or direct producer, what other relevant certifications can I do to expand market share and competitiveness?
1. The domestic market
1. CCC self-declaration
First of all, the CCC certification catalog defines: suitable for driving small-power motors with a rated voltage greater than 36V (DC or AC effective value), less than DC 1500V, AC 1000V, and 3C self-declaration shall be applied for in accordance with the latest national policy requirements.
Note 1: Rated power ≤ synchronous speed × 1.1kW/1500; Note 2: Excluding explosion-proof motors and control motors (such as servo motors, stepping motors, self-aligning machines, resolvers, tachogenerators, induction phase shifters, etc.) ); Note 3: Not applicable to a multi-voltage, multi-speed motor with a rating exceeding the above applicable range. Therefore, the motor must make a mandatory CCC self-declaration within the scope of the 3C catalog before it is put into the domestic market.
2. Energy efficiency label
Conventionally, most of what we see are energy efficiency labels on refrigerators, air conditioners, and fans. Actual motors in the domestic market also have catalogs that require mandatory energy efficiency labels for the record. There are currently two categories:
a. Permanent magnet synchronous motor-GB30253-2013 (voltage is lower than 1000V, minimum power is 550w);
b. Small and medium-sized three-phase asynchronous motor-GB18613-2020 (the latest version, implemented on June 1, 2021, three-phase 2, 4, 6 poles, the range is 0.75kw-375kw).
3. CQC mark voluntary certification
-CQC mark certification (motors not within the scope of 3C can refer to the corresponding CQC 006 category)
-CQC energy saving certification (according to energy saving 701213, 701202, 701210 category)
Motor test standards: GB12350, GB14711, GB25958, GB18613, etc.
2. the international market
1. EU CE certification
The export of motors to the European Union requires CE mark certification. Generally, the CE certification of motors involves the evaluation of the LVD low voltage directive, the EMC electromagnetic compatibility directive and the ROHS directive (if the voltage is lower than 50V, refer to the EMC directive and the ROHS directive evaluation).
It is necessary to confirm clearly the types and parameters of the corresponding motors before applying to determine the corresponding standards for use. Different types correspond to their applicable CE certification standards. For example, AC motor capacitors are applicable to EN 60252, and rotating electrical machines for railway and road vehicles are applicable to EN 60349 standards. Wait for the situation, and communicate the details in time. The regular cycle is: 2-3 weeks (with complete information and the arrival of samples)
2. U.S. UL certification
The UL mark is a safety certification mark for products sold to the American market. Companies will also consider adding the CUL mark when applying, that is, while the motor products are tested in the UL laboratory, the engineers will also test in accordance with the Canadian CSA standards. After the final enterprise is certified, the products can be sold to the US and Canadian markets at the same time. Common motor products UL marks are as follows:
When applying for UL certification for a motor product, it is necessary to first determine the structure and use environmental conditions of the motor, so as to determine whether it is necessary to copy the UL insulation system first and determine the UL motor standard. When companies ask us for a price, they often need to provide rated motor parameters (including rated voltage, motor input/output power, speed...). If the motor will be used in a higher ambient temperature, consider the insulation system. Common insulation systems are as follows :Class B-130°C; Class F-155°C; Class H-180°C; Class M-200°C. The company needs to provide a detailed list of materials and parts for us to confirm and to find a suitable insulation system. The cycle of copying UL insulation system is about 2 weeks. The test standard of the motor is: UL 1004. Enterprises need to send samples to UL laboratory for testing, the cycle is about 4 weeks.
3. German VDE certification
The full name of VDE is the German Association of Electrical Engineers, which was established in 1893. One of the important functions of the association is to formulate German national industrial standards (DIN standards). VDE Testing & Certification Institute (VDE Testing & Certification Institute) is affiliated to the Institute of Electrical Engineers, located in Offenbach, Germany, and was established in 1920. As one of the most authoritative and professional testing and certification organizations in the world, VDE inspects and certifies electrical products in accordance with DIN VDE standards or European EN standards, or IEC International Electrotechnical Commission standards. The VDE mark is considered the most authoritative certification mark in the field of electronics and electrical appliances, and a symbol of quality.
At present, many domestic companies that produce synchronous motors, cover-level motors, fans and other products have applied for VDE certification. The VDE certification process is as follows: type test + factory inspection + certification + regular factory inspection once a year. The test standard for electrical products is: DIN EN 60335-1. The test can be done domestically. The VDE certification marks of motor products are as follows:
When inquiring or applying, we also need the company to provide a list of product models and corresponding rated parameter values, and fill in the VDE structure data sheet and insulation material declaration.
