SASO RoHS will be officially implemented in phases from July 4, 2022

The Technical Regulations on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (SASO RoHS) issued by the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Authority (hereinafter referred to as SASO) will be officially implemented in phases from July 4, 2022. The specific product categories and phased implementation dates are as follows:
1. Household appliances
A-Small Appliances
Ice Cream Makers, Yogurt Makers, Rice Cookers, Sewing Machines, Vacuums, Cleaners, Food Processors, Juicers, Blenders, Shredders, Electric Scissors, Other Kitchen Machinery, Floor Cleaners and Wet Scrubbers, Ironing Machines, Toasters , Electric frying pans, electric kettles, coffee machines, hand and hair dryers, other household appliances for skin and hair, clocks, etc.
Enforcement date: July 4, 2022
B-large appliances
Range hoods, fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, food freezers, ovens, dishwashers, washing machines, washer dryers, dehumidifiers, stoves, ovens, hotplates, heaters, aroma diffusers, water heaters, hot rods and Other bathroom appliances, etc.
Enforcement date: October 2, 2022
2. Communication and information technology equipment
Fax machines, computers, calculators, desktop computers, printers, data processors, other IT equipment, cash registers, postal equipment, data network equipment, telecommunications network infrastructure equipment, wireless telephones, collection, loudspeakers, video recorders, video cameras, Other audio or video recording equipment; products and other equipment that collect, store, process, display or transmit information through electronic means, sites and user systems; televisions, cash registers, etc.
Enforcement date: December 31, 2022
3. Lighting equipment

6. Monitoring equipment
Smoke alarms and other safety detectors, vacuum pumps, melting furnaces, other laboratory equipment for temperature monitoring, heating and cooling, electricity meters, other monitoring tools (such as monitoring instruments), other domestic and laboratory measuring or testing instruments, Regulators, Thermostats, etc.
Enforcement date: December 26, 2023
After the corresponding mandatory date, the above categories of products must provide RoHS technical documents that meet the requirements when applying for Saudi conformity certification before they can obtain relevant certificates. For relevant export enterprises, please pay attention to the latest implementation date.
