Announcement on the Implementation of the New Standard GB/T 2099.1-2021 and GB/T 1002-2021 for Compulsory Certification of Household and Similar Plug and Socket Products

Compulsory product certification of plug and socket products for household and similar purposes is based on the standards GB/T 2099.1-2021 "Plugs and sockets for household and similar purposes - Part 1: General requirements", GB/T 1002-2021 "Types of single-phase plugs and sockets for household and similar purposes" , Basic Parameters and Dimensions" (hereinafter referred to as the "new version of the standard") has been released on October 11, 2021, and will be implemented on November 1, 2022. The new version of the standard will replace GB/T 2099.1-2008, GB/T 1002-2008 (hereinafter referred to as "Old Standard").
In order to ensure the effective implementation of the compulsory product certification system, according to the "Notice on the Issues Concerning Compulsory Product Certification in the Revision of Standards" (GuoChen Kelian [2005] No. Announcement of Requirements” (No. 4 [2012] of CNCA) and the “Resolution on the Implementation of the Standard Version of Plugs and Sockets for Household and Similar Purposes” (TC07-2022-01) (TC07-2022-01) ( See attachment), the relevant requirements for the implementation of the new version of the standard are now clarified as follows:
1. From the date of the announcement to November 1, 2022, applicants can voluntarily choose to apply for certification according to the new version of the standard or the old version of the standard. From November 1, 2022, the new version of the standard should be used for certification and a new version of the standard certification certificate should be issued. , which no longer issues legacy certificates.
2. For products that have been certified according to the old version of the standard, the holder of the old version of the standard certification certificate should submit an application for the conversion of the new version of the standard certification certificate to our institution in time, and after the implementation date of the standard and before the end of the first follow-up inspection, according to TC07 Relevant resolutions completed the product confirmation and certificate renewal work according to the new version of the standard. All the conversion work of the old version of the standard certification should be completed before November 1, 2023 at the latest; if it is not completed within the time limit, our center will suspend the old version of the standard certification; Revoke the old version of the standard certification certificate. At the same time, our center will reasonably carry out the certification work and maintain the certificate during the prevention and control of the new crown epidemic in accordance with the relevant requirements of the State Administration for Market Regulation (CAC), and actively support the resumption of work and production of enterprises.
3. For products that implement GB/T 2099.2-2012, GB/T 2099.3-2015, GB/T 2099.4-2008, GB/T 2099.5-2008, and GB/T 2099.7-2015 standards, this certificate conversion work is only for GB/T 2099.7-2015. /T 1002 for standard conversion.
4. For certified products that have been shipped from the factory, put on the market and are no longer in production before November 1, 2022, no certificate conversion is required.
5. The requirements of the new version of the standard for the implementation of compulsory certification for household and similar plug and socket products in this announcement does not exempt the relevant products from the responsibility of complying with the "Standardization Law of the People's Republic of China" and other relevant regulations.
6. All relevant designated laboratories should report to our center as soon as possible that they have the ability to detect the new version of the standard, and should promptly record the qualification and accreditation of the laboratory that has passed the new version of the standard.
7. From now on, the fourth product certification department of our center starts to accept the certification application of the new version of the standard. Enterprises can submit certification applications through the official website of China Quality Certification Center (www.cqc.com.cn).
