GB 4943.1-2022 standard version change

According to the Notice of the CNCA on Specifying the Working Requirements for the Compulsory Certification of Electronic Products and safety Accessories in accordance with the Standard for Version Change (No. 11, 2022), the standard GB 4943.1-2022 for the compulsory certification of electronic products and safety accessories, Audio and video, information Technology and communication technology Equipment Part 1: Safety Requirements was published on July 19, 2022, and will be implemented and replaced by GB 4943.1-2011 and GB 8898-2011 from August 01, 2023.
Differences between Old and new versions
1. The scope of application of standards is different. The new GB 4943 national standard will combine the two standards of GB 4943.1-2011 and GB 8898-2011 of the previous edition, covering three categories of equipment: audio and video equipment, information technology equipment and communication technology equipment.
2. Optimize and upgrade technology. The new standard uses the safety engineering concept, puts forward the energy classification, comprehensively considers all kinds of electronic products in the use process may appear in six aspects of danger sources such as electric shock, fire, overheating, sound and light radiation, and puts forward the corresponding protection requirements and test methods.
New Edition Technical changes
1. Hazard sources are classified and graded, and corresponding safety protection requirements are adopted for different hazard sources by using safety engineering principles.
2. Six types of hazard sources, including electric injury, electric ignition, harmful material injury, mechanical injury, thermal burn and acoustic and optical radiation, are considered, and corresponding safety requirements and testing methods are proposed for these six types of hazard sources.
3. It is clearly required that the wireless power transmitter should have the function of identifying metal foreign bodies and stop the energy transmission of foreign bodies in time.
4. Safety requirements are put forward for the limit value of sound pressure level.
5. Focus on the battery safety issues, stipulate the battery overcharge protection, temperature protection, shell fire protection, drop protection and other safety requirements, and fully consider the short circuit caused by the key, necklace and other metal objects short battery, as well as the leakage, combustion, explosion and other safety issues caused by the above problems.
6. There are new requirements for outdoor equipment, equipment containing button batteries, grounding continuity and parts.

Tips: Product safety standards are becoming more and more strict.
