Capacitor UL & CQC certification requirements

Capacitors can be classified according to the following five commonly used methods:
1. Classification according to structure and whether the capacitor is adjusted:
There are fixed capacitors, variable capacitors and semi-variable capacitors.
2. Classified according to different media materials:
●Organic dielectric capacitors (including paint film capacitors, mixed dielectric capacitors, paper dielectric capacitors, organic film dielectric capacitors, paper film composite dielectric capacitors, polyester (polyester) capacitors (CL), polystyrene capacitors (CB), polypropylene capacitors (CBB) etc.;
●Inorganic dielectric capacitors (including ceramic capacitors, high frequency ceramic capacitors (CC), low frequency ceramic capacitors (CT), mica capacitors CY, glass film capacitors, glass glaze capacitors CI, etc.
●Electrolytic capacitors (including aluminum electrolytic capacitors, tantalum electrolytic capacitors CA, niobium electrolytic capacitors CN, titanium electrolytic capacitors and alloy electrolytic capacitors, etc.), such capacitors have polarity
●Gas dielectric capacitors (including air capacitors, vacuum capacitors and gas-filled capacitors, etc.)
3. Classification according to different functions and uses:
There are high-frequency capacitors, low-frequency capacitors, high-voltage capacitors, low-voltage capacitors, coupling capacitors, bypass capacitors, filter capacitors, neutralization capacitors, and tuning capacitors.
4. Classification according to different package shapes:
There are cylindrical capacitors, wafer-shaped capacitors, tube-shaped capacitors, laminated capacitors, rectangular capacitors, bead capacitors, square capacitors, and special-shaped capacitors.
5. Classification according to different leads:
There are many types of axial lead type capacitors, radial lead type capacitors, co-directional lead type capacitors and leadless capacitors.

Test standard: UL810
The information to be confirmed for UL structure inspection is as follows (CCN product category: CZDS2)
1. Capacitor rated voltage
2. Trademark
3. Positive and negative tolerance range of rated capacitance
4. Climate category
5. Maximum size and minimum size
6. Shell material name, supplier name and product parameter information and UL file number
7. Potting material name, supplier name and product parameter information and UL file number
8. Lead Type
The UL capacitance performance test requires the company to provide the following parameters: (CCN product category CYWT2)
1. Rated voltage
2. Climate category
3. Minimum and maximum size
4. Maximum fault current
5. Explosion-proof type

Fixed capacitors (EMI capacitors) for suppressing electromagnetic interference of power supply:

Certification documents:
1. A description of the differences between products of various models in the same application unit;
2. Product identification drawings;
3. Design electrical parameter table;
4. Product assembly drawings, electrical schematic diagrams, circuit diagrams, product size tables, product manuals, etc.;
5. CB test certificate, CB test report (if any);
6. The applicant should provide the climate category (lower limit category temperature, upper limit category temperature, duration of steady-state damp heat test) and flame retardancy category of the products in the application unit.
